About StillSparkly
Here's something that's always bugged me: your jewelry drawer is full of beautiful pieces you never wear, and someone out there is searching for exactly those pieces. The problem isn't supply or demand. It's that there's no great place to connect the two.
Resale platforms exist, sure. But they're either designed for sneakers and streetwear (where jewelry is an afterthought) or they're consignment shops that take forever and charge you a fortune for the privilege. Neither really works if you just want to sell a necklace your ex gave you or find a vintage ring that actually means something.
That's why I built StillSparkly. It's a marketplace made specifically for pre-loved jewelry, and it's built around one pretty simple idea: great pieces deserve more than one story.
How it works
Selling is genuinely easy (I'm talking under a minute). Snap a photo of your piece, and our AI identifies what it is, suggests a price, and fills out the listing for you. Review it, hit publish, done. No measuring, no guessing what "art deco" means, no writing a novel about your grandmother's brooch (unless you want to).
Buying is just as straightforward. Browse by category, filter by era or metal or price, and find pieces that actually match what you're looking for. Every listing includes real photos, honest condition descriptions, and flat $4.99 shipping. No surprises.
What we care about
Trust matters here. Jewelry is personal. You're not buying a t-shirt. So we verify sellers, review listings for accuracy, and offer buyer protection on every purchase. If something arrives and it's not what was described, we'll make it right.
This should be fun. Shopping for jewelry should feel like treasure hunting, not filing taxes. We put a lot of thought into making the experience feel personal and a little bit exciting, because honestly, finding the perfect vintage piece should be a good time.
Why secondhand jewelry actually matters
Here's something most people don't think about: only about 12% of jewelry globally gets recycled. The rest (roughly 60%) ends up in landfills. And it doesn't just sit there harmlessly. Costume and fashion jewelry is full of plastics that never biodegrade, plus heavy metals like lead and cadmium that leach into soil and groundwater as they break down. That's not great.
The production side is even wilder. Mining the gold for a single wedding ring generates around 20 tons of waste. Globally, gold mining dumps an estimated 180 million tons of toxic waste into waterways every year (that's more than all the waste U.S. cities send to landfills combined). And we haven't even gotten into the 500 billion liters of water the jewelry industry uses annually.
The good news? When you buy pre-loved jewelry, none of that happens again. No new mining, no new manufacturing, no new waste. Using recycled gold cuts carbon emissions by about 90% compared to newly mined gold. Every piece that changes hands on StillSparkly is one that's already been made, already exists, and just needs someone new to love it. That's genuinely one of the most impactful things you can do as a consumer, and it doesn't require any sacrifice (you still get beautiful jewelry).
The short version
StillSparkly is for anyone who has jewelry they no longer wear and for anyone looking for something with a little more character than what you'll find at the mall. We're building the place I wished existed every time I opened my jewelry drawer and thought, "someone would love this."
Built with love in San Francisco, CA.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, take a look around. And if you've got pieces ready for their next chapter, start selling. We're glad you're here.
